Privacy Policy

This is a static informational site with no accounts, no tracking cookies and no data collection beyond ordinary server logs

What this site is, technically

This is a static website. The pages are pre-built files served to a browser. There is no user account system, no login, no comment system, no newsletter signup, no shopping function and no database of visitors.

Because of that, the site itself collects nothing from a visitor beyond what any web server necessarily records in the ordinary course of serving a page.

Server logs

The hosting provider that serves these pages keeps standard server logs. Those typically record the internet address the request came from, the time of the request, the page requested, the response status, and the browser's user-agent string. This is ordinary operational logging performed by the host for delivery, security and troubleshooting, and its retention period is set by that provider.

No attempt is made to identify a visitor from those records, and they are not combined with anything else.

Cookies and analytics

This site sets no tracking cookies, uses no advertising networks, and carries no third-party social or advertising widgets.

Where any analytics is added, it is added by me and is disclosed here rather than run silently. Analytics of that kind, if present, reports aggregate page-level usage — which pages were viewed, and broad referral and device categories — and is not used to build a profile of an individual visitor, to target advertising, or to identify anyone.

If your browser sends a do-not-track signal or blocks scripts, the site works normally; nothing on it depends on being tracked.

Contact by email

The contact page carries a single email address as a mailto link. There is no form that submits data to this site and no system here that stores a message.

When you send email, the message travels through your email provider and mine and is stored in an ordinary mailbox. It will contain whatever you chose to put in it, plus the routing information any email carries. Messages are read by me, retained for as long as is useful for correspondence, and not sold, rented or shared for marketing purposes.

Do not send confidential or privileged material by email before an engagement is in place, and do not send anything about a live matter without counsel's involvement. Sending an email does not create an expert-client or attorney-client relationship.

Links to other sites

This site links to primary sources — policy documents, standards, statutes and rules published by others — and to hartzer.com. Those are independent sites with their own privacy practices, and following a link means their practices apply rather than this one.

Changes, and how to reach me

This policy may be updated if the site's technical arrangements change — for example, if analytics is added or removed. The version on this page is the current one.

Questions about this policy can be sent to the address on the contact page.

A reference, not an intake page. This site describes what a domain name expert witness does and what the domain record can be made to show. It is not legal advice, nothing on it creates any relationship, and no engagement is taken through this website. The current record of credentials is at hartzer.com.
