Website Redirect & Traffic Diversion Forensics

Tracing redirect chains and correlating them with traffic and monetization shifts to document how visitors were diverted.

Tracing a Redirect Chain

Traffic-diversion schemes frequently route visitors through multiple intermediate domains before reaching a final destination, both to obscure the ultimate beneficiary and to pass through ad-network attribution steps. Redirect forensics documents each hop in the chain, the HTTP status codes and timing involved, and where in that chain any deceptive or infringing content actually appears.

Correlating Redirects With Monetization

The redirect chain is typically analyzed alongside advertising network identifiers, affiliate tracking parameters, and destination-site ownership to establish who financially benefited from the diverted traffic — the piece of the analysis most directly relevant to a bad-faith-intent-to-profit finding.
